Ramey repeats as Forester Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON , IN — The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of December 1-7, 2003 . Women’s basketball sophomore Jessica Ramey earned the honors for the second straight week.

Jessica Ramey, a sophomore basketball player from Kimmell , Ind. ( West Noble High School ), helped lead the Foresters to a 3-0 week. She scored 46 points, shooting 50% (16-32) from the field, 47% from behind the arc (7-15) and 70% (7-10) from the line, while grabbing 20 rebounds and dishing out 16 assists in the team’s three victories. On Tuesday, Ramey had 11 points and eight assists in the Foresters’ 64-50 win over Spring Arbor University . Her combined 35 points and 18 rebounds in the Foresters’ two games in the Santa Lucia Tournament on the weekend helped HC capture the tournament title. In the championship game against host Trinity International University , Ramey recorded her first double-double of the season with her team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Foresters are now 6-4 on the season and next travel to St. Joseph ’s College on Tuesday, December 9, at 6:00 p.m. CST .
