Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 10-16. Women’s volleyball sophomore Alyssa Schroeder and men’s golf freshman Justin McMillen earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Alyssa Schroeder, an elementary education major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), helped lead Huntington to a 4-1 record for the week. Schroeder came up big in the Foresters 3-0 win over the University of St. Francis with her 37 assists, seven aces, seven digs and two blocks. At the Manchester Tournament on the weekend, Schroeder averaged 11.6 assists per game to help HU go 3-1. She was the lone Forester selected to the All-Tournament team.
