Fairborn, Ohio - Playing at Greene Country Club in Fairborn, Ohio, the HU golf team shot a 623 to finish second at the Yellow Jacket Fall Invitational hosted by Cedarville University on October 17-18.
The windy conditions on Monday didn’t bode well for any of the five teams but it was Cedarville who sat atop the leader board with a 28-over-par 316 after day one. The Foresters shot a 323 to find themselves in third place but Tuesday’s weather proved to be much more golf-friendly as HU fired a 300 to slide past Taylor for the runner-up spot.
Jordan Dawes paced the Foresters with his seven-over-par 151 (77, 74) to finish in a tie for second. Matt Wilson fired a 156 (79, 77). One stroke behind him was Josh Teulker with a 157 (84, 73). Mickey Belt shot a 159 (83, 76) and Devin Dale finished with a 166 (87, 79) to round out HU’s scoring. Playing as an individual, Matt Johnson turned in a 180 (92, 88).
Cedarville finished with a 608 followed by HU (623), Taylor (630), Cincinnati Christian (700) and Wilmington (744).
The Foresters wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a 31-6 record.
