Huntington, Ind. - Carmel High School standout Alec Peterson has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Huntington University next fall. Peterson, a member of the 2011 All-County Team and Indy Star All-North Team, averaged 10.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during his final season. This 6’10 forward has also been recognized as a Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 100 player and was voted one of 16 “Best of the Best” players by Hamilton County Sports Daily.
Huntington University basketball coach, Ty Platt, is excited about adding Peterson to the 2011-12 recruiting class. "Alec is a big post player who gives our team some much needed size. Not every day do you get a young man with his size, skill and potential. Offensively, he has soft hands, a nice touch and good post moves. Defensively, he challenges shots and rebounds very well.”
“Alec has a high ceiling, as we think his best basketball is still in front of him. As he continues to mature and develop, we are confident he will have a terrific career as a Forester."
