Doug Sheckler
Sheckler, a freshman from Columbia City, Ind. (Columbia City High School), helped the Foresters stay unbeaten in Mid-Central Conference play with his timely shooting in both of Huntington’s games this week. In the Foresters’ 75-66 win over Grace College, Sheckler came off the bench to score a career-high 29 points on 9-14 shooting, including 3-6 from behind the arc and 8-8 from the line. Sheckler again was a catalyst for the Forester offense in their 71-65 victory over the University of St. Francis (IL). He scored 10 of his 14 points in the final 13 minutes of the game to help the Foresters pick up their fifth win in a row. The Foresters (11-4, 4-0) return to action at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18 when they travel to New Albany to take on the IU Southeast.
The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 50 NAIA All-America honors and 99 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
