HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University men’s soccer coach Russ Lawson has announced that Leo High School standout Lucas Lengacher has signed a letter of intent to play at HU this fall.
In addition to anchoring his team’s defense the past few seasons, Lengacher has also played a vital role in guiding his teammates as evidenced by being named captain his senior year. This two-time Allen Country Athletic Conference First Team honoree was also named to the Indiana All-District Second Team this past fall.
“We are very excited that Lucas will continue his career at Huntington,” says Coach Lawson. “He is a hardnosed defender who reads the game well and has the ability to distribute and generate offense. Off the field we are confident Lucas will make a tremendous impact in the classroom as he will enter HU as an honor student.”
Before joining the Foresters in August, Lengacher will finish up his club career by playing for the Rangers FC. Ranger Coach Hani Rabi states Lengacher “set the standard” of commitment for his teammates throughout the season. Rabi predicts the outside back “will do exceptionally well at the collegiate level.”
Lucas is the son of Steve and Sue Lengacher of Leo, Indiana.
