HU's top four players competed at the Wilson/ITA NAIA Regional Championships on the weekend. HU's #1 men's doubles team of Tyler Moore and Gonzalo Vivas came up just short in their bid for a doubles' title.
The pair made it to the to the championship match before falling 8-3 to another MCC foe, Matt Lantz and Jordan Hoy of Spring Arbor. On their way to the finals, Moore and Vivas defeated two seeded teams, Felipe Bedon and Jack Reed from Taylor (#3 seed) in the first round and the #1 seed Patrick Bruining and Jordan O'Neill from Aquinas College in the semi-finals.
Three of the four Foresters won first round singles' matches. Vivas blanked Troy Schroeder of Northwestern Ohio 6-0, 6-0 before falling in the second round 1-6, 6-1, 13-11. Moore downed Evan Carr of Northwestern Ohio 6-0, 6-2 then fell 6-4, 6-4 in round two and Mitchell McDonald topped Indiana Wesleyan's Drew Dawkins 5-7, 7-6, 10-7, then lost a three-setter 3-6, 6-2, 12-10 in the second round.
