Upland, Ind. - In a highly-touted MCC matchup that lived up to its billing, the Taylor University Trojans came up with a 5-4 win over the HU men's tennis team on Saturday morning.
After the Trojans grabbed four of the six singles matches in straight sets, the Foresters knotted things up with convincing wins at the one and two spots of doubles play. With the game on the line, it was the Taylor duo of Ben Evans and Wes Nitzsche at the number three spot that came up big with an 8-4 win to seal the Foresters' fate.
HU (0-1, 0-1) returns to the court today when they travel to Goshen College for a 4:30 p.m. match.
