Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-25. Women’s track sophomore Jill Roughia and men’s track sophomore Dan Lindbloom earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competition.
Jill Roughia, a history education major from Bryant, Ind. (Jay County High School), finished second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:06.60 at the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational at Anderson University. Her time knocked nearly two seconds off her previous personal best and met NAIA provisional qualification standards to compete in the Indoor Track and Field National Championship held in Johnson City, Tennessee, March 8-10. Her time also moves her up to third in Huntington’s all-time list in the event.
Dan Lindbloom, an exercise science major from Evergreen Park, Ill. (Chicago Christian High School), turned in an outstanding individual performance at the University of Chicago’s Maroon Invitational. He won the 3000 meter event with a personal best time of 8:57.03. His time moved him up to second on Huntington’s all-time list in the event and also met NAIA provisional qualification standards to compete in the Indoor Track and Field National Championship held in Johnson City, Tennessee, March 8-10.
