LIMA, Ohio - Up against a talented University of Northwestern Ohio squad (5-1), the HU volleyball team (0-5) dropped a 3-1 decision, 18-25, 18-25, 25-23, 16-25, to the Racers Wednesday night.
Melissa Grossman and Katie Bowers led a balance attacked as they each finished with eight kills while teammates Abbey Keister and Kaylee Searles added seven kills apiece. The Foresters finished with 11 team blocks to the Racers’ 5.5 but it wouldn’t be enough as UNOH tallied 55 kills to HU’s 40 to dominate the net.
Jensen Carnahan directed HU’s offense with 38 assists while Bowers paced the Foresters’ defense with 19 digs.
Huntington opens up conference play Wednesday when they host the University of Saint Francis at 7:00 p.m.
