HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University head women’s soccer coach Ryan Burgher has inked his second recruit for the 2012-13 season in Western High School (Parma, Mich.) standout Korynne Kik.
As the Panthers’ goalie, Kik has racked up a collection of awards which includes First Team All-Conference and All-District honors. The All-State Honorable Mention pick has also been named First Team All-Region.
In addition to playing soccer for Western, Kik has also established herself as a Panther basketball and volleyball player. The three-sport athlete spends her off season playing club soccer for Rush Central.
“Korynne is going to be a great fit on our team,” commented Coach Burgher. “She has visited the campus and the team multiple times and it already feels like she is on the roster. She is a great girl with a great personality and I know is going to mix well with our current players.”
“Korynne is going to challenge right away. She has the talent and work rate to be a very good keeper. From the day she signed with us I know she has been training to play an integral role on our team.”
Kik will graduate from Western with high honors and as a member of the National Honor Society. She is leaning towards a major in either elementary education or pre-med and is excited to experience all HU has to offer. “I chose Huntington because I wanted a place where my faith would grow and where I could also be challenged academically. I also chose Huntington because I knew I would make great friendships and have fun.”
Korynne is the daughter of Tom and Lisa Kik from Spring Arbor, Michigan.
