Fort Wayne Philharmonic to Perform Holiday Pops Concert at Merillat Centre


HUNTINGTON, IN -- The Fort Wayne Philharmonic, under the leadership of Music Director Edvard Tchivzhel, will perform a Holiday Pops Concert on Sunday, December 10, 1995 at 2:30 p.m. at the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College.

The program features holiday favorites the whole family will enjoy. Highlights of the program will include "The Many Moods of Christmas," arranged by Robert Shaw, "Christmas Favorites," arranged by Bruce Chase, "excerpts from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker," Leroy Anderson's "A Christmas Festival" and "Sleighride," and other seasonal selections such as "Rudolph the Red- Nosed reindeer" and "White Christmas." The concert will conclude with a Christmas Pops sing along.

During the 1995-96 season, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform over 50 concerts in Fort Wayne and over 20 concerts in neighboring communities. In addition, the orchestra (along with smaller ensembles) will perform over 400 educational and community concerts. The Fort Wayne Philharmonic employs a "core" orchestra of 42 full-time musicians who are dedicated to excellence in performance.
