“Flowers in the Sunshine, Flowers in the Shade” College Auxiliary plans spring breakfast program

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington College Auxiliary will hold its Spring 2001 Breakfast on Saturday, March 3, at 9 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons. Community women are cordially invited to attend. The program, “Flowers in the Sunshine, Flowers in the Shade” will feature landscaping ideas from Wayne Fox, owner of Huntington Nursery.

Fox is a native of Huntington County and holds a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Purdue University. He has been involved in the retail horticultural business for 17 years. He currently has 21 acres of nursery stocks.

After a brief overview of flowers and the landscaping business, Fox will take questions about flowers, trees, and landscaping problems.

In addition, Wayne’s son Ashley Fox, a freshman at Huntington College, will be singing. Ashley, a baritone, has sung the lead role in numerous musicals.

The cost of the breakfast is $5.50. Please make reservations by Thursday, March 1, by calling Shirley Cox of Huntington (260-356-1560), or Barbara Fetters of Fort Wayne (219-672-8333).

The Huntington College Auxiliary has been a part of the campus community since 1903 and is always involved in several initiatives to benefit the students. Current projects involve acquiring new wall decor and refinishing the settees in the Baker Hall lounges, and enlarging the Auxiliary’s scholarship endowment.
