Dr. Timothy Troyer
Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Dr. Troyer teaches organic chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and chemistry in contemporary society. His primary research interests are in organic synthesis and natural product isolation. He worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical company for several years in the area of new drug development.


Dr. Ruth Nalliah, Huntington University, a Christian college

Professor of Chemistry

Dr. Ruth Nalliah received a B.A. in chemistry from Bluffton College in 1989 and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Toledo in 1995, having worked on a project involving laser Raman spectroscopy of heme, the active molecule in hemoglobin. Dr. Nalliah joined the faculty of Huntington University in 1995, teaches physical and analytical chemistry in addition to freshman chemistry, and serves as the pre-medical adviser for chemistry majors.


Dr. Barth Ragatz, Huntington Univesity, a Christian college 
Dr. Barth H. Ragatz
Visiting Professor of Chemistry and Biology

Dr. Ragatz is a member of the American Chemical Society and was previously active in the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and the Biochemical Society. At Huntington, he will teach J-Term courses, direct independent studies and seek external funding to develop an undergraduate thrombosis research laboratory.

Dr. William Bordeaux, Huntington University, a Christian college

Professor Emeritus of Chemistry

Dr. William H. Bordeaux received a Doctorate of Arts in chemistry from the University of Miami, Florida. He was employed during the summers and part-time as a chemist as the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric  Administration (NOAA) laboratories in Miami.

Dr. Smith retired from active teaching after 42 years on the Huntington University faculty. He taught both physics and chemistry.
