Darius teaches courses in law and public policy in the Department of History and Political Science. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at Huntington University, he serves full-time as a detective with the Huntington City Police Department, where he currently holds the rank of sergeant in the Detective Bureau. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Manchester University. As a professional law enforcement instructor, he specializes in tactical medical care, firearms training, and use-of-force instruction, bringing extensive field experience and certifications into both academic and professional training environments.

His highest priority as an educator is ensuring that students are given the opportunity to truly master the subject matter. Whether teaching in the professional sphere or the university classroom, Darius emphasizes student ownership of the learning process. Most importantly, he seeks to teach students to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Darius specializes in criminal procedure and the history of Fourth Amendment jurisprudence.

Outside the classroom, Darius enjoys competing in ultra-endurance sports, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with his wife and children.
