Katy Herron joined the Huntington University staff in 2025.
Katy’s position centers on cultivating major gifts, stewarding donor relationships, managing public and donor relations, and creating compelling grant proposals. A key professional objective of Katy’s position is to secure significant funding for student scholarships, ensuring that more individuals can access the transformative educational experience offered at Huntington University. Another priority of Katy’s is deepening engagement with HU alumni, inviting them to explore meaningful ways to partner with the University, and building enduring, generational legacies.
Beyond professional responsibilities, this role is a personal calling for Katy to serve God’s kingdom through dedicated work at Huntington University. Katy plans to nurture relationships that reflect Christ’s love, guide others toward Jesus, and embrace a spirit of continual learning as a representative of the HU community.
In the past, Katy enjoyed singing and acting professionally for a season at a couple of repertory theaters, utilizing the experience and training she gained as a student active in HU theater. In her free time, Katy enjoys music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a minor in business management from Huntington University

- Certificate in Strategic Decision Making and Human Resources from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania
