Berggren receives NACCAP award

Mr. Jeff Berggren was awarded the Admissions Officer of the Year Award by the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals.
Huntington, Ind. "Jeff Berggren, vice president of enrollment management and marketing at Huntington University, recently earned the Admissions Officer of the Year Award from the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP). Candidates for the award are nominated by staff and then voted on by the NACCAP Executive Board.

Berggren received high praise from the Huntington University Admissions staff who nominated him for the award. Jeff's dedication to Huntington and his passion for its current and prospective students is contagious in our office, the admissions staff wrote in the nomination form.

The staff commended Berggren for his contributions to two recent major projects that included the creation of a Huntington College interactive DVD and the switchover from Huntington College to Huntington University. Jeff has spent tireless hours pouring his creative and managerial juices into both of these crucial endeavors to assure that Huntington and its student benefit and that the Lord is glorified, the staff wrote.

Jeff is dedicated to being a true friend to his staff and a strong Christian example to us all, the staff added. In addition, his passion for Christian higher education makes him the best candidate for this award.

Berggren has worked as Dean of Enrollment at Huntington University since 1993. Since then enrollment has increased by approximately 70 percent. Prior to coming to Huntington, he served as an admissions counselor at John Brown University.

Berggren has attended each annual NACCAP conference since 1987. From 1991-1998, he served as a faculty member for the Becoming an Admissions Professional training workshop for new NACCAP admissions counselors. In 1997, Berggren was awarded the NACCAP Regional Service Award. In 1998, Berggren was elected vice president of NACCAP by member schools and served as vice president until 2001.

Berggren currently serves on the Commission for Chief Enrollment Officers of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). He has been on the commission since 1998 and has held both vice-chair and chairperson positions during that time.
