Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College senior Susan Guilkey was recently crowned Miss North Central Indiana 2005 at Plainfield High School. After prevailing over 20 other young women, Guilkey was awarded a $1,000 scholarship and the opportunity to compete in the Miss Indiana pageant at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center on June 23-25, 2005. As she prepares for Miss Indiana this summer, Guilkey will spend her time promoting volunteerism and civic engagement through her platform, Pursuing Your Passion through Volunteerism. She hopes this will help to improve volunteer retention and create stronger bonds between organizations and volunteers. Guilkey is specifically interested in working with youth because she believes it is never too early to develop lifetime habits of service.
