Educators are responsible to not only educate, but shape and mold students to become better contributors to society, said Hooley on his teaching philosophy. This involves looking past the student 'title' and seeing each person as someone who desires acceptance.

At the IAHPERD conference, which is themed Strength Through Collaboration, Huntington College students from the Physical Education in the Elementary School class will present a session entitled Physical Education Learning Centers " How to Utilize in the Classroom.

Students in the class are required to participate as a class assignment. They have worked to create the learning centers, which are intended to unite the classroom with physical education. The idea had been accepted for the conference due to the emphasis on integrating physical education into the classroom.

The learning centers will be placed in the classroom and utilized by children to learn more about a variety of sports, health, fitness and physical education. For example, some learning centers will feature how to incorporate pedometers and heart rate monitors into the curriculum. The overall purpose of these learning centers is to increase understanding and appreciation of the importance of physical education as part of the classroom curriculum.
