HU Women’s Auxiliary 23rd annual benefit garage sale

The Huntington University Women's Auxiliary will host its 23rd Annual Garage Sale Benefit from 2-8 p.m. Oct. 25 and 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 in the Merillat Complex fieldhouse on HU's campus.

Generous contributors have already indicated that the inventory includes furniture, especially lamps, from the HU Bangs Memorial President's home, close outs of four other garage sales, donations from moving sales along with a cottage closing, and books from the close out of the HU Homecoming RichLyn Library Book Sale.

Proceeds will contribute to the funding for the 2013-14 Auxiliary project of Roush Hall main lounge wall décor. In addition, the Auxiliary contributes $750 each year to its Math Education Scholarship.

Other donations for the sale will be accepted at the west door entrance of the fieldhouse from 3:30-7 p.m. Oct. 24 and from 8-11 a.m. Oct. 25.

Clean, usable items are to be marked clearly with reasonable prices. (Exception: jeans, slacks, shirts, blouses, skirts, sweaters, children's clothes, shoes, and books do not need to be marked).

Furniture, jewelry, household items, bedding, crafts, Christmas décor, records, games, office supplies, gardening and yard items, even fresh plants or produce are quite popular additions.

Unsold items are donated to Habitat for Humanity, Love INC., the Salvation Army and other charities.
