HU Women’s Auxiliary invites women to Spring Semester Breakfast

Huntington, Ind.-The Huntington University Women's Auxiliary invites women of the community to the Women's Spring Semester Breakfast at 9 a.m. April 10 in the Habecker Dining Commons.

All women of the community are welcome to attend. The cost for the breakfast buffet is $6. Reservations are to be made by April 7 by calling Pat Jones at (260) 359-4061, Ruth Seilhamer at (260) 672-8605 or by e-mailing Sue Henry at henrymom@verizon.net.

The program was arranged by Jeannie Myers, owner and manager of Town and Country Flowers in Huntington. The topic, "Bouquets, Bouquets ... from the Garden to Your Table," will provide information about designing flower arrangements, the care of flowers and how to increase the vase life of floral pieces. Crystal Hutchinson and Carol Smart, professional florists at Town and Country, will also demonstrate design techniques and help each person in attendance make a simple floral arrangement to take home.

Music will be provided by the Huntington University Music Department. Ashlyn Brady and Anna Willard, junior choral education majors, will perform vocal duets, and Patrick Harding and Ted Stavro, senior music business majors, will provide classical guitar selections as a prelude.

Through the Women's Auxiliary's contributory membership drive, community women have helped maintain a scholarship endowment. This year, a $1,450 scholarship was given to Zachary Kevin Keller, HU sophomore math education major, from Portland, Ind. Other funds received this year provided for new furnishings for a prayer room in Baker and Roush halls.
