Huntington alumna wins regional Emmy award

Huntington, Ind.-Angela Atalla, a 1996 alumna from Huntington University, has won an Emmy from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

She and photojournalist Mitchell Wallace were recognized for their story about the 53-acre Dancing Buffalo Ranch in Brooksville, Fla., where North American bison are raised. They were one of five winners in the historical/cultural category.

Atalla is a reporter and anchor for WTSP/Tampa Bay's 10. Tampa Bay's Channel 10, a highly respected CBS affiliate, serves the No. 1 market in Florida and the 12th largest market in the country.

The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to excellence in television. It offers annual Emmy Awards called the Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards to television markets in the entire state of Florida; Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans, La.; Mobile, Ala.; Thomasville, Ga.; and Puerto Rico.
