FOR RELEASE: Tuesday, January 6, 2004
Nate Perry receives the Peer Award from Polly Tribolet. HUNTINGTON , IN "Huntington College has established a new program to promote acknowledgement and recognition of the outstanding efforts of faculty and staff members. The Huntington College Peer Award is an honor awarded to two individuals each month by fellow peers. The traveling award began with Polly Tribolet, 2003 Staff Member of the Year, and Dr. Jeff Webb, 2003 Faculty Member of the Year, in December. They have now passed the award along to a colleague of their choice for the month of January.
Mr. Nathan Perry, Assistant Director of Enrollment, received the Peer Award for the month of January from Tribolet. Perry is in his fourth year of employment with the College.
Nate is always willing to do whatever is necessary for teamwork, and he does it with a cheerful attitude and energetic spirit, said Tribolet.
Dr. Mary Ruthi receives the Peer Award from Dr. Jeff Webb.
Dr. Mary Ruthi, professor of sociology, received the Peer Award for the month of January from Webb. Ruthi has taught at Huntington College for over 22 years.
I have selected Mary Ruthi to receive the Peer Award for January because she consistently models Christian virtues for my colleagues and me, said Webb. During a busy and often stressful semester, she has maintained her selfless dedication to the teaching craft, while working to forge consensus on several important issues before the faculty. I am inspired by her endless fund of energy and good-natured disposition, which has given me an example of how to go about fulfilling my responsibilities in teaching and committee work on campus.
The Peer Award will be passed along to two new individuals at the beginning of February. For more information about the Peer Award, visit http://www.huntington.edu/hr/peeraward/.
