Rahn to speak on “Contagious Faith”

HUNTINGTON, IN -- The RichLyn Library at Huntington College will present the fifth in its Focus on Excellence lecture series on April 30 at 8:00 p.m. The featured speaker will be Dr. David Rahn, professor of educational ministries and director of the Link Institute for Faithful and Effective Youth Ministry. Rahn will address Contagious Faith: Empowering Student Leadership in Youth Evangelism. The program is free and open to the public. The presentation will be of particular interest to clergy, counselors, and youth workers. Dr. David Rahn is a nationally acclaimed expert in the field of youth ministry. As director of the Link Institute (www.linkinstitute.com), Rahn has headed several important research studies examining youth ministry effectiveness. He is the author of Contagious Faith: Empowering Student Leadership in Youth Evangelism (Group: 2000) and a contributing author and co-editor of Starting Right: Thinking Theologically About Youth Ministry (Zondervan: 2001). He also authored the Youth Ministry article in the forthcoming Baker Dictionary of Church Ministry (Baker Books: 2001), along with numerous other scholarly articles on the subject.
A member of the Huntington College faculty since 1986, Rahn teaches about youth ministry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His prior experience includes 13 years on the staff of Youth for Christ. He continues to have an active ministry role, volunteering weekly with the local Campus Life evangelistic outreach. Rahn serves on the advisory board for Youth Specialties Academic Support Network and consults with Youth for Christ/USA in the capacity of National Ministries Director. His holds degrees from Purdue University (PhD), Wheaton Graduate School (MA), and Huntington College (BA).
