Residence hall contract awarded

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington College officials announced today that Weigand Construction will build the Christian college's next residence hall. Tom Ayers, vice president for business and finance, explained, "With the assistance of the InterDesign Group of Indianapolis, the College recently sought and received competitive bids from four firms on the construction of our new 48-bed residence hall. Weigand Construction company of Fort Wayne submitted the best and lowest bid and is being awarded the general construction contract."

The overall cost of the project will be near $2.2 million dollars, including site development, architectural design, professional fees, construction and furnishings. Construction will begin in July 1998 and be completed by July 1999 with occupancy scheduled for the fall semester of 1999.

Huntington College is a four-year, co-educational, Christian liberal arts college located in Huntington, Indiana. Founded in 1897, Huntington College offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in nearly 50 academic concentrations.
