Roush appointed Director of Alumni Relations

Huntington, Ind. " Margaret Roush has accepted appointment as Director of Alumni Relations at Huntington College, effective July 1. In this position, Roush will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for all alumni-relations efforts and for developing resources for the College from the alumni base.

Roush graduated from Huntington College with a degree in Organizational Management. Since 1990, she has worked at Huntington College, first as the Marketing Manager of the Community Arts Program at the Merillat Centre for the Arts from 1990-95, and most recently as the Director of the Merillat Centre for the Arts from 1995-2002. Roush brings to the Director of Alumni Relations position skills in programming, financial management, planning, fundraising, communications, marketing and leadership.

Roush has been an active member of the local community and region. She has served as Vice President of the Huntington County Visitors and Convention Bureau Commission and President of Huntington Kiwanis. Roush has been a member of the Indiana Presenters Network and a member of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, received the Indiana Governor's Hoosier Hospitality Award in 1998, and recently served as a panelist for the IAC/Arts Indiana Grant Panel.

In her new role, Roush will provide leadership and direction for such alumni-relations initiatives as homecoming, regional gatherings and special fund-raising campaigns and projects. She will work closely with the Alumni Board and other alumni to implement a comprehensive and effective alumni relations program.

I'm excited to serve in this new capacity, said Roush. I look forward to getting acquainted with new and old Huntington College alumni and reacquainting them with the College.

Margi brings a deep love for the College and a significant knowledge of our alumni base to her new role, said Ned Kiser, Vice President for Advancement. She is a part of three generations of Huntington College graduates " Ed and Polly Roush (her in-laws), Joel (her husband), herself and Marc and Michele Skinner (her son-in-law and daughter).

Roush succeeds Jim Hoffman (1959) as director of alumni relations. Hoffman retired this year after more than 25 years of service to his alma mater. (See Huntington College Magazine, Summer 2002 issue, for complete details.)
