Yost presents “Keys to an Effective Organization” at Leadership Luncheon

Huntington, Ind.- Huntington University will present its next Leadership Luncheon on Wednesday, February 24. The featured speaker is Dr. Daryl Yost, director of Certified Technology Park at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center. Yost will address "Leadership and Management: Keys to an Effective Organization."

"Too many times these terms, leadership and management, are used synonymously," said Yost. "Each is important, but understanding the role of each and how each differs is critically important. The presentation will focus on the essentials of leadership and how this will impact the management of the organization."

Yost's presentation will draw upon his long experience in both education and business. He served as the Superintendent of East Allen County Schools from 1973-1982. Yost then served as Vice President for Human Resources for Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. He later held a variety of leadership positions at Taylor University, retiring in 2003 as Executive Vice-President of the University.

Yost has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Allen County, Arthur Blaising Social Service Agency, Lael Scholarship Fund, William Taylor Foundation, United Way of Grant County, Marion/Grant County Chamber of Commerce, Marion General Hospital, and Taylor University Broadcasting.

The Leadership Luncheon is sponsored by the Huntington University Center for Leadership and will take place at the Habecker Dining Commons from noon to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. For reservations, contact Barbara Baker at 359-4069 or email at bbaker@huntington.edu.
