Adjunct Instructor
Joined the Huntington University faculty in 2025.
Dr. Amanda Payne is excited to join the adjunct faculty in the Education Department at Huntington University, a place that holds a special place in her heart. She shares the mission and ideals of Huntington University, seeking to impact others for Christ through scholarship and service.
Since graduating from Huntington University in 2006, Amanda has worked to grow professionally during her 20 years in education. She earned her Reading Specialist Certification, in addition to completing Orton-Gillingham training and LETRS training. As an advocate for literacy learning, Amanda frequently leads professional learning both formally and informally for teachers in her school district and in the surrounding region. This passion led her to pursue a Doctorate in Education with a focus in Literacy. Her dissertation sought to explore what teachers need to feel equipped and empowered as they provide effective literacy instruction to their students. Amanda is thrilled to be able to use her learning and passions to serve the graduate students of Huntington University, as they seek to grow their skills.
Amanda currently resides in Beaver, Pennsylvania with her husband, Brandon, and daughter, Parker. She enjoys music, playing games with her family, and getting lost in a good book.
