Abigail Barnes to present Senior Recital

Huntington, Ind. "Abigail Barnes, a senior choral music education major from Huntington, Ind., will present her senior recital on Saturday, October 23, at 3:00 p.m. The performance, held in the Longaker Recital Hall in the Merillat Centre for the Arts, is open to the public and admission is free. Barnes's performance includes a variety of international pieces, such as at Non ti sdegnar, by Italian composer Giovanni Carlo Maria Clari, the German piece Frauenliebe und Leben by Robert Schumann, Connais-tu le pays by French opera composer Ambroise Thomas, Pie Jesu from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem Mass and a set of Biblical songs by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak.
Barnes currently studies voice under Joni Killian. She is a member of the Huntington College Concert Choir, and has previously been a member of the Huntington College Women's Chorale, Handbells and Wind Ensemble. She plans to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music in the spring and hopes to teach Elementary General Music at a local school.
