Allwein to present senior theatre project

Huntington, Ind.-Abigail Allwein will present her two-person contemporary musical, "The Last Five Years," as her senior theatre project at 7:30 p.m. April 18 in the Studio Theatre of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. "The Last Five Years" chronicles a couple throughout their relationship over a span of five years. It is a commentary on the dual nature of responsibility in relationships, the damage caused by unfaithfulness, and the joy of finding a person to love for a lifetime. The story has a twist because the male in the relationship tells the tale from beginning to end, while the female tells it from end to beginning.
"This show is not for all age groups," said Allwein, a theatre performance major from Fort Wayne, Ind. "There is a maturity level required to be able to handle the material because the characters struggle with everything from marital unfaithfulness to struggles in their careers to how to make their relationship grow - it's a piece that will really speak to the college-age group."
Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
