Art students earn top honors at juried exhibit

Huntington, Ind. "Dana Goodman, associate professor of sculpture at Indiana University Purdue University- Fort Wayne (IPFW), served as the guest juror for the Huntington College 15th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit, held in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery on March 10. Huntington College art students displayed the exhibit with works of art created throughout the current school year. Rachel Rhine, a senior graphic design major from Burlington, Ind., received the Wilson Purchase Award for her computer illustration, Grasping Direction. The piece will now become property of Huntington College Robert E. Wilson Gallery.
Best of Show was awarded to Sarah Clifford, a junior fine arts major from Russell, Pa., for her oil canvas painting, Still Life. Ben Hopper, a freshman graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., won first place overall with his wire design, Range Wire. Second place overall went to Nuria Bagley, a senior graphic designer major from Huntington, Ind., for her graphic design, Hutton Ad #1. Kala Parthemore, a senior art education major from Columbus Grove, Ohio, won third place overall with her computer illustration, Psalm 23.

Ceramics " Amanda Reed, a senior fine arts major from Harrisburg, Pa., for Drum

Computer Illustration " Carmen Catellier, a senior graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., for Fifty Years of Shark Attacks
Photography " Greg Wardwell, a sophomore graphic design major from Beech Grove, Ind., for Untitled
Sculpture " Sarah Clifford for Little Foot
Web Design " Joel Sabillion, a senior computer science major from La Ceiba, Honduras, for Honduras
The exhibit is showcased through April 9, 2005, in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery located in the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College. The gallery is open to the public Monday " Friday from 9 a.m. " 5 p.m., and before all Merillat Centre for the Arts performances. Admission is free.
