Ashlyn Brady and Anna Willard present recital

Huntington, Ind.- Sopranos Ashyln Brady and Anna Willard will present a combined vocal recital at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26, in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital is free and open to the public. Both Brady and Willard are students in the Huntington University Music Department majoring in choral education.
Ashlyn Brady is a junior at Huntington University from Macomb, Mich. She began singing for audiences when she was five years old. She has taken voice lessons for nine and a half years and is currently studying under the direction of Professor Joni Killian.
During her middle school years, Brady performed at the Detroit Opera House in the operas La Boheme and Carmen. She performed in the All State Honors Choir in her senior year of high school. She also performed with the Detroit symphony orchestra and placed Division One in State Solo & Ensemble during her sophomore and junior year of high school.
Currently Brady is studying choral education and is involved in Huntington University's Concert Choir. She performed in the 2009 Huntington University Music Department Concerto and was recently chosen to participate in the 2010 Concerto. She was also chosen to sing in the Annual Longaker Honors Recital in 2009.
Anna Willard is a junior from Chesterton, Ind. Her aptitude for music started at a very young age, singing in her first choir at the age of four.
In high school she was accepted in to the Chesterton High School Show Choir receiving the Outstanding Performer Award in 2005. In the spring of 2007, she performed the role of Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls.
At Huntington University she participated in the Annual Longaker Honors Recital in 2008 and 2009, and also performed in the 2009 Concerto. This fall, Willard was a member of the ensemble and played the role of a "silly girl" in Beauty and the Beast. She has been involved in Women's Chorale and Concert Choir at Huntington University and is currently a member of the worship team "Joyful Noise." She continues to study voice with Professor Joni Killian.
Music is one of more than 70 academic concentrations available at Huntington University.
