Breakfast to feature digital media arts faculty

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University digital media arts faculty Bryan Ballinger and Steve Leeper will be featured at the Huntington University Foundation breakfast on March 14. They will demonstrate why the digital media arts program is one of the fastest growing undergraduate academic majors at Huntington University and will be joined by students with samples of their work. The breakfast line will open at 7:45 a.m. in Huntington University's Habecker Dining Commons, and the program will conclude by 9 a.m. The cost is $6 per person. First-time guests eat free.
Bryan Ballinger is an assistant professor of digital media arts. His specialty is in the design and illustration work of digital media. He has more than 13 years of experience in this area and was a freelance illustrator with clients such as Microsoft, Nintendo, Disney and Harley Davidson. He was also the lead 3D designer for five years at Big Idea Productions, the creators of "VeggieTales." Before that, Ballinger spent six years as a senior designer and illustrator at the Microsoft Corporation where he was awarded a patent for development of multimedia buttons.
Steve Leeper, an instructor in digital media arts, is a filmmaker, storyteller and educator. In 1997, Leeper joined Big Idea Productions. Between 1998 and 2003, Leeper served as layout supervisor for numerous productions including the feature film "Jonah: a VeggieTales Movie." Leeper is pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts through the Art Institute of Boston. He is the animator/director of two short animated films: "Please Don't Feed the Animals" and "Traveling Show," both of which have enjoyed international exposure. Leeper has a third short film in development, "The Temptation of Brother Thomas." He also works closely with Masterpiece Ministries helping to create workshop experiences designed to encourage and educate young artists as they grapple with issues surrounding creativity and faith.
The Huntington University Foundation hosts a monthly breakfast meeting open to anyone interested in learning about current issues and Huntington University programs. Breakfast meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, at the Habecker Dining Commons.
