Furniss holds a BFA from Indiana University and a MFA from Kent State University, both with a concentration in ceramics. He is currently an adjunct professor at Huntington University as well as at IPFW and Grace College.

"My work is process-oriented sculpture that has developed from the pottery form and emphasizes the importance of the material," Furniss described.

The gallery and the gallery talk are free and open to the public.
