Coffman’s work accepted by national exhibition

HUNTINGTON, IN JULY 15, 1996 --- Rebecca Coffman's work entitled "Decrescendo" is currently being exhibited in Plates and Platters: A National Invitational Exhibition. The event features a wide spectrum of works by ceramic artists from across the country. Diverse materials and techniques are represented in the exhibition, which continues through July 12 at the Ronald L. Barr Gallery on the campus of Indiana University Southeast, New Albany.

Coffman serves as assistant professor of art at Huntington College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hardin-Simmons University and her Master of Fine Arts degree from Texas Tech. She is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the College Art Association of America, Christians in the Visual Arts, and the National Council on Education of the Ceramic Arts.

Art is one of nearly 50 academic concentrations available from Huntington College. The four-year Christian college was founded in 1897 by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. The liberal arts school is located on a contemporary, wooded campus in Huntington, Indiana.
