College Students Select Homecoming King and Queen

Huntington, Ind. "Huntington College's 1999 Homecoming King and Queen were crowned on Friday, October 2. Before an audience of students, parents, friends, and alumni, the ceremony took place on the Alumni Plaza directly in front of the school's historic Administration Building, built in 1897. Erin Prendergast was named 1999 Homecoming Queen. Erin is an art education major from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Erin's art often incorporates Christian themes and ideas, and she desires to express the gospel message through her artwork. Outside Huntington College's art studios, Erin is involved with the Ekklesia Praise Team, Campus Life, and serves as a Freshmen Mentor. At the ceremony, Erin expressed thanks to God, her family, and her friends.
Cory Whitehead was named 1999 Homecoming King. Cory is pursuing a degree in business management and marketing. Originally from Goshen, Indiana, Cory plans a career serving non-profit agencies in management and marketing. While at Huntington, Cory has been actively involved with Student Senate, the Freshmen Mentor program, Student Activities Board, Student Admissions Staff, and was the public relations coordinator for the College's Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service. At the ceremony, Cory expressed thanks to his supportive friends and family, the committed faculty and staff, and the Lord for leading His life.

- Brodie Garber, an elementary education major from Goshen, Indiana.
- Megan Callahan, an elementary education major from Huntington, Indiana.
- Benji Bailey, a Business Economics major from Goshen, Indiana.
- Chris Edgel, a business management major from Grand Ledge, Michigan.
- Angela Vincenti, a cross-cultural ministries major from Huntington, Indiana.
- Trevor Lee, a psychology major from Huntington, Indiana.
The 1999 Homecoming Court included representatives of all four Huntington College classes.
Corrie Nicholls and Jedd Hutchinson represented the freshmen class. Corrie is an elementary education major from Strycker, Ohio. Jedd is a theater performance major from Benton, Maine.
The sophomore class was represented by Rachel Blue and Mark Flood. Rachel is an elementary education major from Fowlerville, Michigan. Mark is from Butler, Indiana and is pursuing a major in Bible and religion.
The junior class was represented by Sarah Lightcap and John Warden. Sarah is a psychology major from Woodburn, Indiana. John is a theater performance major from Cincinnati, Ohio.
