Comedian Tomas Kubinek to perform at Merillat Centre
Huntington, Ind.-Comedian Tomas Kubinek will perform Saturday, January 22, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts on the campus of Huntington College.
Tomas Kubinek, billed as a "Certified Lunatic & Master of the Impossible," presents an exuberant one-man show that has charmed audiences of all ages throughout North America, Australia and Europe. Kubinek is a magician, an acrobat, a clown, "the world's champion housefly catcher," and a true artist who offers an utterly joyous experience to be remembered for a lifetime. Who else can pull off a backward somersault while drinking a glass of water balanced on his forehead and plucking a ukulele? Who else would have the selfless courage to circle high above the stage, flapping for dear life, on giant canvas wings?
The performance is advertised as a "family show," but Kubinek is not just for children. Every bit a showman, Kubinek will have adults crying with laughter and amazement by the end of his show. A Red Skelton for a new generation, Kubinek is part comic, part storyteller, part mad scientist, and all clown.
Partial funding for this performance is provided by Schenkel's All-Star Dairy. Tickets are $6 for all seats, and will be available at the door. For further information, contact the Merillat Centre for the Arts Box Office at 260-359-4261 or www.huntington.edu/mca.
