Concerto winners to perform in concert at Huntington University

Huntington, Ind.-Four Huntington University students and one area student will perform in Huntington University's Tenth Annual Concerto Winners Concert at 7:30 p.m. April 22 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

The concert features the winners of the Huntington University Concerto Competition which was held last November.

Performers from the university are:

Senior tenor Matthias Austin, a theater performance major and music minor from Wheaton, Ill., will be singing "Questa o quella" and "La donna e" from "Rigoletto" by Giuseppe Verdi.

Junior soprano Ashlyn Brady, a choral music education major from Macomb, Mich., will be singing "Mi Chiamano Mimi" and "Donde Lieta" from "La Boheme" by Giocomo Puccini.

Senior guitarist Patrick Harding, a music business major from Avilla, Ind., will be playing "Concerto in D Major" by Antonio Vivaldi.

Sophomore soprano Sarah Yanovitch, a vocal performance major from Griswold, Conn., will be singing "Care compagne ... Come per me sereno, Ah! Non credea...Ah! Non giunge" from "La Sonnambula" by Vincenzo Bellini.

Fifteen-year-old Rebecca Benjamin, a student from Warsaw, Ind., will be performing "Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64" by Felix Mendelssohn on the violin.

Each will perform with the Huntington University Chamber Orchestra directed by Dr. Robert Lynn, director of instrumental studies.

General admission is $5 and $3 for students and seniors.
