Department of Music to present ‘International Fare’

Huntington, Ind. "Join the Huntington University Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble for a musical trip around the world in their spring concert, International Fare, on Thursday, April 27, 2006.

The Wind Ensemble with Mr. Scott Hippensteel, director, will perform a variety of folk songs, marches, overtures, dances and ballads from nine countries. Selections include Irish Tune from County Derry, Marche des Parachitistes Belges, Amparito Roca, Shepherd's Hey, Puszta, Overture from The Barber of Seville, In the Hall of The Mountain King, Variations on a Shaker Melody, Meditaions, and The Girl with the Flaxen Hair.

The Jazz Ensemble with Mr. Eric Clancy, director, will perform selected jazz standards.

Experience an evening of live music from a variety of other cultures. The music will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. Prices are $8 for general admission, $6 for seniors and Huntington University faculty and staff, and $4 for University students.
