Dowdens attend CCCU events and National Prayer Breakfast

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College president Dr. G. Blair Dowden recently attended the President's Conference of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) in Washington, DC. Dowden also chaired the meeting of the CCCU Board of Directors. As board chair, he was integrally involved in many events for participating leaders in Christian higher education. Featured speakers included Barry Black, Chaplain of the United States Senate. The CCCU Board's agenda included discussion of a variety of church-state issues, including the right of Christ-centered institutions to include faith considerations in hiring practices. HC First Lady Chris Dowden also attended the events and was instrumental in organizing and hosting many spouse activities.
While in Washington DC, both President and Mrs. Dowden attended the National Prayer Breakfast. Featured speakers included President George W. Bush, Congressman John Lewis (GA) and former Congressman J.C. Watts (OK).
"It was remarkable to join over 3,000 individuals from all over the world to unite in common prayer and commitment to the Lord," said President Dowden.
