Education honor society charters Huntington chapter

Huntington, Ind. "Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society for Educators will charter a chapter at Huntington College. The initiation ceremony will take place on Monday, May 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of College Park Church. Dr. Michael Wolfe, Executive Director of Kappa Delta Pi will present President Blair Dowden with Huntington College's membership charter.

Induction into Kappa Delta Pi requires that an education student be a sophomore, junior or senior, have achieved at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, and have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions.

Similarly, faculty members must exhibit high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession.

Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 and now has over 60,000 members worldwide.

Education is one of Huntington College's largest academic programs. Founded in 1897, the Christian liberal arts college offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in nearly 50 academic concentrations.
