Ensembles to take audience on out-of-this-world trip

Huntington, Ind.-Join the Huntington University Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble for a musical trip that's out of this world in their April 26 spring concert, "Galactic Inspiration."

The Wind Ensemble, with Scott Hippensteel, director, will perform a variety of music inspired by space and celestial phenomena. Selections include "Also Spracht Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss from "2001: A Space Odyssey TM," "Jupiter" from "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, "Stargazing," "A Space Symphony," "Stars and Bars" march, and selections from "Star Wars TM."

Senior trombone major Aaron Eberly of Ligonier, Ind., will perform "Annie Laurie" by Arthur Pryor with the Wind Ensemble. The Jazz Ensemble with Eric Clancy, director, will perform selected jazz standards.

Experience an evening of live music from outer space. The musical journey will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts' Zurcher Auditorium.
