EXCEL Adult Degree Programs hires additional staff

Huntington, Ind.-The EXCEL Adult Degree Programs of Huntington University recently hired two new staff members.

Carrie Hoffman was hired as an admissions consultant for the Columbia City location. She holds an associate degree in business administration from Ivy Tech State College and is pursuing her bachelor's degree at Anderson University. Prior to her position at Huntington, she served as a recruiter for Anderson's School of Adult Learning. Hoffman said she is excited to assist adult learners with reaching their educational goals.


Denise Howe
Denise Howe is serving as the new curriculum coordinator. She assists with maintaining the current curriculum and developing new curriculum for EXCEL students. Howe earned an Educational Specialist degree in curriculum from Ball State University, a Master of Science degree in education from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science degree in speech pathology and audiology as well as general experimental psychology from Ball State University. In addition, she has completed doctoral work in adult and community education at Ball State. Prior to her role at Huntington, Howe served as the director of learning support services for Manchester College.

EXCEL offers evening classes tailored to the schedule of most working adults. Classes are held one night per week, one subject at a time. Classes last five to eight weeks and lead to an associate degree in organizational management or bachelor's degrees in accounting, business administration, human resource management or not-for-profit leadership.

EXCEL also offers the Gateway Program through which adults can take continuing education classes for personal enrichment or toward the completion of a college degree. As a student-focused program, EXCEL provides a high quality business education enriched by Christian ethics and perspectives.

EXCEL offers classes in Columbia City, Huntington and Wabash.
