Exchange Club adds new documents to HC Freedom Shrine

Huntington, Ind. " In a brief ceremony this afternoon, the Exchange Club of Huntington donated two new plaques to the Freedom Shrine at Huntington College's RichLyn Library. The Exchange Club Freedom Shrine contains reproductions of historic documents of American liberty, including the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, and key speeches of United States presidents.

The pledge to the flag was led by Mr. Dean Gressley of Huntington.

Mr. Norm Cozad, a 1952 graduate of Huntington College and a long-standing member of the Huntington Exchange Club, offered dedicatory comments.

The two new plaques " the I Have a Dream address of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Account of the Trials of Susan B. Anthony " were presented by Ms. Freda Martin.

Dr. G. Blair Dowden, president of Huntington College, received the plaques on behalf of the College and thanked the Exchange Club for its significant gift. (Comments below.)

A closing prayer was offered by Rev. Stan Peters, a 1949 graduate of Huntington College and member of the Exchange Club.
