Festival of Christmas at Merillat Centre Dec. 5-6
HUNTINGTON, IN NOVEMBER 22, 1996 --- The Huntington College Department of Music will present its annual Festival of Christmas on Thursday, December 5, and Friday, December 6, at the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The concerts begin at 7 p.m. each evening. The public is cordially invited to attend. There is no admission charge.
Due to the enthusiastic response from the Huntington community to last year's Festival of Christmas, the College has again scheduled two performances this year.
The Festival will include special performances by the Huntington College Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Marlene Schleiffer, the Concert Choir directed by Dr. David Wallis, and Cantorei, a women's ensemble, directed by Ms. Carrie Donahue.
The concerts are designed for the entire family. The program, which includes both traditional and contemporary works, will be especially delightful to school-age children. Throughout the concert, audiences will be invited to join the choirs in singing a number of Christmas carols. Seating is limited and audiences are encouraged to arrive early.
