Forester Night honors several seniors

A fun-filled Forester Night showcased theatrical performances and outstanding senior honors.
Huntington, Ind. "The 33rd annual Huntington College Forester Night was held Tuesday, May 4, 2003, at Huntington College. Foresters of the Year, the Alpha Chi Award and Outstanding Senior Awards in various departments were presented throughout the evening. Foresters of the Year were chosen by a student body vote, taken the week before Forester Night.

Annie Zeller, a communication studies major from Spring Arbor, Mich., was named Female Forester of the Year. She has served in many leadership roles at the College throughout her four years. She has been a member of the Ekklesia student-led worship team, a resident assistant and a member of the women's soccer team.

Matthew Bruce, a psychology major from Fort Wayne, Ind., was named Male Forester of the Year. Throughout his four years, he has been involved at Huntington as a resident assistant, a Christian ministries coordinator, and a Dean's List honoree. Bruce has also spent time on a summer music ministry team and as a volunteer for the Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service.

The Outstanding Alpha Chi Scholar Award was presented to Beth Shindle, an English major from Greencastle, Pa. She is a writer for the student newspaper and a Dean's List honoree. Shindle has been named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was presented the Outstanding Senior Award in English on Tuesday.

Faculty from each department voted on an Outstanding Senior within their department and then announced and presented a plaque to the individual on Forester Night. Following are the recipients in each department.
