Foresters Collect Seven All-American Honors at NAIA Indoor Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Huntington track and field teams capped the indoor season in impressive fashion at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held March 5–7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.

When the three-day national meet concluded, the Foresters had produced seven All-American performances — highlighted by a relay podium finish and standout individual efforts on both the men's and women's sides.

The Huntington men finished 12th out of 68 teams with 17 points, while the Forester women tallied 3.2 points to place 54th of 67 teams. Crossroads League rival Marian captured both the men's and women's team titles.

Busam Headlines Men with Triple All-American Performance
Sophomore Jan Busam led the way for the Forester men by earning three All-American honors during the national meet.

Busam first took the podium in the 400 meters, clocking a 46.96 to claim third place, finishing one spot higher than his pre-meet seeding. The speedster then returned to the track in the 200 meters, sprinting to an eighth-place finish to secure his second individual All-American nod.

Busam capped the weekend by helping the 4x400 meter relay team to a runner-up finish in 3:12.46, giving Huntington its highest placing of the meet. Joining Busam on the relay squad were Noah Wellington, Celestin Trambloy and Jayden Williams, all of whom earned All-American honors for their efforts.

Freshman Caleb Farr added to the Foresters' scoring with an impressive showing in pole vault. Entering the event as the 15th seed, Farr cleared 4.85 meters to finish seventh, earning his first All-American honor.

Howell Repeats as All-American to Lead HU Women
On the women's side, Olivia Howell highlighted the Foresters' performances by repeating as an indoor All-American in the 800 meters. The sophomore finished seventh in 2:14.06, improving three spots from her seeding. Howell earned All-American status in the same event last season when she placed sixth.
