Foresters Return to NAIA Nationals After 14-Year Hiatus

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – For the first time since 2011, the Huntington men's tennis team is headed to the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship. The 73rd annual tournament will be held May 13–17 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.

The Foresters received one of 11 at-large bids and enter the tournament as the 21st seed with a 12-4 record, including three wins over Top-25 opponents. They will open play on Tuesday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m. ET against 12th-seeded Cumberland University (Tenn.)—a first-time matchup between the two programs.

This is the eighth time Huntington has advanced to an NAIA postseason tournament. HU is one of two representatives from the Crossroads League, joining Grace College who secured the league's automatic bid as the tournament champions.

This year's 24-team field features 13 automatic qualifiers and 11 at-large selections. The at-large bids were awarded by the NAIA Tennis National Selection Committee, a panel of coaches and administrators from around the country. Nineteen teams from last year's field return for another shot at the national title.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 160 NAIA All-America honors and 567 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
