Fort Wayne Philharmonic to perform at HC

HUNTINGTON, IN " The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform Christmas favorites on Sunday, December 8 at 2:30 p.m. The Holiday Pops Concert, sponsored by the Huntington College Community Arts Program, Myers Funeral Homes and Bowers, Brewer, Garrett and Wiley, will be held in the Merillat Centre for the Arts in the main auditorium.

The concert will directly follow the HC Brass Ensemble, which will perform from 1:30-2:15 p.m. The Holiday Pops is a reminder of all the good things we celebrate at this wonderful season. The concert will include a sing-along with the orchestra on some classic Christmas carols.

Serving as assistant conductor to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic is Bradley Thachuk. Thatchuk came to Fort Wayne from the Prince George Symphony Orchestra where he was interim music director. Prior to that appointment he was associate conductor of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and conductor of the opera program at Miami University. He was conducting assistant for the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras in 2000-01, and was the 2000 recipient of the prestigious David Effron Conducting Fellowship at the Chatauqua Festival in Chatauqua, New York.
