Foundation Breakfast to showcase ‘Shakesperience!’

Huntington, Ind. "The Huntington University Department of Theatre Arts will present portions of its new educational traveling show, Shakesperience! at the March 8, 2006, Huntington University Foundation Breakfast.

Christopher Betz, a junior theatre performance major from Blissfield, Mich., and Sharon Voss, a senior theatre performance and psychology double major from Villa Park, Ill., perform in "Shakesperience!"
Dr. Jack Wann, former chairman of the Theatre Department at Northwestern State University, La., developed this simple concept show which fuses the musical theatre of today with the lively and robust theatre of Elizabethan England.

For Wann, directing at Huntington University is coming full circle. His father, John Wann, attended Huntington University (then Huntington College) in the 1930s. Now Wann has brought his "Shakesperience!" to Huntington in collaboration with his former student and HU professor of theatre, David Shamburger.

The public is cordially invited to attend the Wednesday morning performance. The breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons and conclude by 9 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $6. First time attendees to the breakfast series eat free.

The Huntington University Foundation sponsors its breakfast meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May. For more information, please contact the Huntington University Foundation at (260) 359-4066.
